Franz Berger as new technology lead at tmc

Franz Berger’s journey to this pivotal role has been one marked by excellence and dedication. Currently also serving as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at tmc, Franz has showcased remarkable leadership and technical knowledge. Change is an inevitable part of our dynamic work environment at tmc. Today, we’re thrilled to share that, effective April 1, 2024 (and no, it’s not a late April Fools’ joke!), Franz Berger has stepped up to take the technology lead (CTO) at our company, formerly overseen on an interim basis by Jochen Nowotny, our CEO.

Jochen Nowotny welcomes Franz stating that “his track record of competence and dedication speaks volumes, and we are certain that he will excel in this new role. He has our unwavering support, as well as the support of all colleagues here at tmc.”

Franz has previously held several product development lead roles for tmMCO and tmOS, and he is certified at Scrum Level 3. Like many of our colleagues at tmc, he also has a background at Plasser & Theurer before joining us when tmc was founded. During his tenure there, he contributed to tmA2, so it’s possible that there are remnants of his code still present. Now, he brings his extensive experience and expertise to guide our technological initiatives as CTO.

Franz studied Informatics at TU Wien and lives in Bad Hall, where he has built a home with his family. This is also where he honed his negotiation skills that come in handy for supplier negotiations at tmc. He enjoys spending his leisure time with his family in the nature.

To our colleagues and partners, we kindly ask you to embark on this new chapter of innovation and growth under Franz’s capable leadership. Here’s to a future filled with continued success and technological excellence, and if you haven’t already done so, connect with Franz on LinkedIn.
