From Hardware to Heartbeats: tmc at the Vienna HopeRun 2025

It started with a simple idea: turn unused hardware into something good. Fast forward six weeks, and last Saturday that idea hit the (running) track. We proudly joined the HopeRun 2025, a charity run in Vienna, as Bronze Sponsor, supporting Kinderkrebshilfe in their mission to help children and their families affected by cancer.

Our donation for the charity run came from a tmc-internal hardware sale. It’s proof that even old laptops and cables can spark something meaningful when combined with our team spirit. Thanks to the incredible support of our colleagues, we raised the full amount for the Bronze Sponsorship. Every cable, keyboard, and screen sold to teammates, friends, and family added up to something bigger, which is a cause that truly matters to us all. With the funds in place, it was time to put on our running gear. Two of our colleagues, Michael Wachert Rabl and Matthias Eder, represented tmc on the track, running among all the participants in different age groups.

We’re incredibly proud of them and of the entire team, cheering from near and far to support kids and families going through unimaginably hard times.

So yes, we usually get tracks and machines connected. But this time, we sold old tech and ran for something far greater. Maybe this inspires you to do something similar? We’d love to hear about it!
