TRACK MACHINES CONNECTED
Who we are
Our multidisciplinary team brings together specialists from science, experts from practice and digital aficionados. This makes tmc a technological pioneer in track maintenance.
What drives us
The success of rail transport depends largely on a sustainable, high-performance infrastructure. The railway network is the foundation for climate-friendly passenger and freight traffic. Our goal is to improve the world’s rail networks and make people’s work in track maintenance easier, safer and more efficient. Thus, we have developed a modern sensor technology, browser-based platforms and applications. To this end, we employ 100 of the world’s brightest minds in the fields of science, technology development, project management and digitization. From our headquarters in Linz and our branch office in Vienna, we deliver our services to clients in Europe, North America, Japan and Australia.

Railway Maintenance Software & Predictive Rail Solutions
What is tmc?
Railway maintenance has a data problem and it’s costing time, money, and efficiency. tmc (Track Machines Connected) is a railway technology company providing railway maintenance software, IoT systems, and AI-powered solutions for predictive maintenance and railway infrastructure monitoring to solve said data problem. The goal is to transform railway maintenance from reactive processes into a data-driven, connected, and scalable system.
The Challenge in Railway Maintenance
Railway infrastructure is facing increasing pressure. More traffic is running on existing networks, maintenance windows are getting shorter, and expectations for reliability and efficiency are rising.
At the same time, many railway operations still rely on reactive maintenance, fixed schedules, and fragmented data across systems. This leads to inefficiencies, higher costs, and limited transparency in railway asset management.
What does tmc do?
tmc connects data across the entire railway ecosystem. By combining track machine data, rail infrastructure data, and maintenance process data, tmc enables a fully integrated view of railway operations.
This allows railway operators and contractors to monitor infrastructure condition, analyze historical and spatial data, optimize maintenance planning, and reduce downtime and lifecycle costs. At the core is a browser-based railway data platform tmOS that makes complex data accessible and usable. tmc also provides mobile railway infrastructure mapping and digital twins of railway lines and track-based vehicles and machines as a service.
How does tmc technology work?
tmc builds a connected system using IoT devices on railway machines and infrastructure, AI-powered assistance systems, digital twins of tracks and machines, and analytics platforms for reporting and optimization.
This creates a continuous data loop from data collection to execution and improvement.
The result is predictive railway maintenance, where issues are identified before they impact operations.
The tmc portfolio
tmc solutions are structured across three core areas.
- Machine focuses on automation and AI-supported systems that improve machine performance and operator decisions.
- Fleet focuses on fleet management and optimization for better utilization of railway machines.
- Infrastructure focuses on measurement and monitoring solutions for track condition and geometry.
Together, these form a closed-loop railway maintenance system.
